  • Early vocabulary size is genetically linked to ADHD, literacy, and cognition
    em Março 1, 2024

Are genetic factors underlying children’s language development linked to later-life outcomes? In a genome-wide analysis, an international research team found genetic associations between children’s early vocabulary size and later-life ADHD, literacy, and general cognition. These associations changed dynamically across the first three years of life. Both producing more words in infancy and understanding fewer words in toddlerhood were associated with a higher risk of ADHD.

  • Plant-Based Diets and Risk of Hip Fracture in Postmenopausal Women
    em Fevereiro 29, 2024

CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Findings of this cohort study indicated that long-term adherence to healthful or unhealthful plant-based diets as assessed by hPDI and uPDI scores was not associated with hip fracture risk. Future research should clarify whether the associations observed with recent dietary intake are due to short-term effects of these dietary patterns, reverse causality, or both.

  • Plant-Based Alternatives Need Not Be Inferior: Findings from a Sensory and Consumer Research Case Study with Cream Cheese
    em Fevereiro 24, 2024

Reliance on animal foods must be reduced to improve planetary and human well-being. A case study approach used cream cheese (commercially available) as the focal product category (2 PBCA, 2 dairy) and implemented a multi-response paradigm (hedonic, sensory, emotional, conceptual, situational). “Beyond liking” insights were established, including…
